4" Calico Aster | Symphyotrichum Lateriflorum

Also known as the starved aster, this herbaceous perennial has small, spiky, dark green glossy leaves and compact pale flowers with bright rosy pink centers. It blooms from late summer into autumn. In the fall, the leaves sometimes turn a dark purple color, lending it the nickname "Lady in Black."  This plant can handle full sun to partial shade and is a great addition to a pollinator meadow.
